League Rules:


Under 17 Match Rules

  1. Any person under the age of 17 on the 31st August of the year preceding the season shall be eligible.
  2. The games shall commence at 6.30pm. League games shall be played on a Wednesday evening.  Twenty overs per side to be played in all League games, unless otherwise agreed between the captains/club representatives, before the toss.
  3. The games shall be played on a pitch of 22 yards. Artificial pitches are acceptable.
  4. Full size wickets to be used.
  5. Six ball overs.
  6. No more than four overs per bowler.
  7. The fielding side shall provide a regulation size ball, new or in a good condition, plus a spare ball. This should be of British manufacture, preferably grade A or grade 1, bearing the British kite mark. Such balls to be approved by the umpires prior to the start of the game.
  8. Six hits are allowed.
  9. Suitable tackle to be provided by the home team, if necessary.
  10. A player may not take part in a game at which he has not appeared by the time half the number of agreed overs has been bowled in the first innings. This rule does not affect the law relating to substitute fieldsmen.
  11. Coaching on the field of play shall not be permitted in under 17 games.
  12. On scoring 30 runs, a batsman will retire and not return when all other batsmen have batted.

 

Under 15 Match Rules

  1. Any person under the age of 15 on the 31st August of the year preceding the season shall be eligible.
  2. Games will be played on a Sunday morning with a 10am start, whenever possible.
  3. 30 overs per side to be played in all league games where possible. If 30 overs per side cannot be played due to sunday afternoon commitments then a minimum of 20 overs should be played. Dependant on weather / playing conditions, overs can be reduced by mutual consentof the coaches / managers.
  4. No more than five overs per bowler if playing 30 overs. no more than four overs per bowler if playing 20 overs. Likewise if weather / playing conditions effected, bowlers cannot bowl more than one fifth of the overs played
  5. On scoring 30 runs a batsman will retire and not return when all other batsmen have batted
  6. No fielder, except the wicketkeeper, is to field nearer than 8 yards, measured from the middle stump, except behind the wicket on the off side, until the batsman has played the ball. I f a fielder comes within this distance; the umpire must stop the game and instruct the fielder to move back.
